Social Belonging
It is normal for people to form groups around their similarities, location, and common interests.
This is how we develop culture, team up toward a cause, and find a place to fit in.
Groups give us a sense of belonging and safety.
Examples include: Families, friends, clubs, organizations, teams, churches, political groups, gangs, etc.
Social groups can create division, stir up civil unrest, violate the rights of others, or break the law. Some examples could be gangs, organized crime, or radical groups.

Stereotyping
Classifying someone based on how they look, what they do, or what groups they belong to.
- Example: People who look like this are police officers.
Stereotyping is a mental shortcut that may include incorrect assumptions.
- Example: Police officers love coffee and donuts.
Stereotyping that puts down, makes fun of, or injures someone, is harmful and wrong.
Diversity & Inclusion
All people have feelings and value, strengths and weaknesses. We are more similar than we are different. Differences make us meaningful and interesting to each other; however, they can create conflicts.
Diversity should be our strength not our division.
Life is better when we embrace and celebrate differences.
